The LGBT Network is a gay rights charity based in Scotland
and is a registered charity with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
The LGBT Network was founded as a not for profit organisation in April 2008 and operates throughout
Europe
with the mission statement - The LGBT Network is committed to enabling the fullest participation of all members of the community in influencing policy making, and achieving equity for
LGBT citizens.
The Director of the LGBT Network, Nick Henderson
is well known within the voluntary sector in Scotland and is credited with launching a petition for civil and religious marriage equality at the Scottish Parliament
in January 2009. Henderson is one of Scotland's Youth Commissioners on Alcohol.
The Chairperson of the LGBT Network is Rob McDowall who is Director of SIACC and a Board Member of Partners in Advocacy.
McDowall launched a petition in 2008 calling on the Scottish Parliament to lift the ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood. The petition received high level support from Ross Finnie
