Lafayette County's mascot is the Cougar. Their colors are Navy Blue and Silver. They currently participate in the 3A Conference with, Prescott High School, Drew Central High School, Camden Fairview High School. They participate in Academic Competitions, NASA's Great Moonbuggy Race (in which they have excelled), Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Football, Boys and Girls Track and Field (in which they have REALLY excelled), and Speech and Debate. Between 80-95 percent of the school graduates enroll in some form of post-secondary education each year. It is currently in the MRVC east conference.
