Lake Carey

Lake Carey is a salt lake
80 kilometres (50 mi) south of Laverton, Western Australia
within the Laverton Tectonic Zone, that has been associated with the presence of gold
since the 1890s and recently there has been renewed exploration drilling. Midas, the company who have sponsored the drilling, estimates that there may be 25 million ounces (780 tonnes) of gold within the site. It has also been reported that there may well be significant amounts of nickel and zinc.
