Curriculum

It covers the sixth grade, the seventh grade, and the eighth grade. Unlike most schools, it has a nine period schedule. It consists on A days and B days to fit with the students Music and Physical Education classes. It also consists on teams, which is like a smaller division of the grade level. It consists of teams of team A, team B, team C and team D. There are the core classes (Humanities, English, Social Studies, Reading, Foreign Language (Spanish and Italian), Math and Science). Instead of having two separate classes of Social Studies and English, Humanities is a mixture of English and Social Studies that is only taught in the 6th grade and takes up two periods. There are the Encore classes as well (Phys Ed/Gym, Music, I-Core, Consumer Studies/Science, Art, Computers, Tech Lab, and Health). Computers and Tech Lab alternate, with Tech Lab being taught in 6th and 8th grade, and Computers being taught in 7th grade and 6th grade. Health is only taught in 7th and 8th grade. Art is taught in all grades.
