. The city covers an area of 262.41 square kilometres and according to the 2000 census had a population of 117,256 people.
Langsa is a former of some parts of East Aceh district. Located approximately 400 miles from the city of Banda Aceh. Langsa previous status in accordance with City Administrative Regulation Number 64 Year 1991 on the establishment of the City Administrative Langsa. Langsa then set the status of a town by Act No. 3 of 2001, dated June 21, 2001
There are several universities in the city of Langsa, among others: University Samudra of Langsa, Stai Zawiyah Cot Kala, Campus LP3I and some schools of nursing and midwifery such as: Academy of Nursing of "Harapan Ibu", Academy of Nursing "Yayaysan Cut Nyak Dien",Nursing Academy of "UMMI", and other so on.

- Merdeka Square the City of Langsa. Spending time in the afternoon, with a dish of food and entertainment are available.
