The Laramie Boomerang is the only daily newspaper
in Laramie, Wyoming
. It was established in 1881 by Edgar Wilson Nye
, who named the paper after his mule, Boomerang. Nye also contributed several humorous writings to the Boomerang (under the pseudonym Bill Nye) and served as the paper's editor until 1884.
In 2003, the newspaper removed the word “daily” from its masthead to account for the fact that it is published six days per week, Tuesday through Sunday.
