Lawrence King (born January 30, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio and raised in Eagle Rock, California) is an attorney, one of the founders of World Team Tennis
, and the former husband of tennis star Billie Jean King
. He met Billie Jean Moffitt at Cal State Los Angeles, where he played on one of their best Mens Tennis Teams, coached by Scotty Deeds. King, along with Dennis Murphy, Jordan Kaiser and Frank Barman, developed the concept of World Team Tennis in 1973, and started the league the following year..
King and Murphy were also founders of Roller Hockey International
, a professional inline hockey
league that operated from 1993 to 1999. Murphy had also been instrumental in the founding of the American Basketball Association
and the World Hockey Association

Larry and Billie Jean King were married from 1965 to 1987. Billie Jean became the major owner of World Team Tennis in 1984.
Larry is an avid Duplicate Bridge player. He promoted Bridge University throughout the country for several years. Now is working to establish Bridge as a money game.
