Latvian Mobile Telephone ( or LMT) is a mobile GSM/UMTS operator in Latvia.

From 2005, LMT customers can use EDGE
, giving a data transmission speed of up to 236 kbit/s using the existing GSM network. That is the highest available mobile data transmission speed in Latvia across the country, enabling LMT customers to use Mobile TV - allowing them to watch television broadcasts using their handsets.
LMT actively participates in the activities of international telecommunications organizations GSM Association
, UMTS Forum
and ETSI.
Latvian Mobile Service has entered into roaming agreements with 385 mobile communication networks in 136 countries. From 2005, LMT's permanent subscribers, as well as OKarte users, can use their handsets not only in European countries, but also in other continents.
Since a part of LMT belongs to Telia Sonera, from July 11, 2008, due to an agreement between Telia and Apple, the iPhone
will be legally available in the Baltic states
and other Telia subsidiaries or co-properties, like LMT in Latvia, for example.
