Laverda Jota is a Laverda
1000cc motorcycle modified by the importers Slater Bros. of Collington, England. The Jota made a big impression in 1976. Producing 90 hp and reaching speeds of more than 140 mph, it was the fastest production motorcycle to date.
The Laverda Jota model ran from 1976 through to 1982. Originally fitted with a crankshaft with 180° crankpin phasing and an alternator on the righthand side of the engine till 1982. Then from 1982 the Jota 120° was released which had the crankpin phasing to 120° and this model made a completely different sound. Also, the alternator was moved to the lefthand side of the bike.
The 3 cylinder 3CL was improved by adding high lift camshafts and less restrictive exhausts. It is named after jota
