Lawyers Alliance for New York (Lawyers Alliance) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

. Lawyers Alliance was founded in 1969 as the Council of New York Law Associates.
Throughout the 1980s, the Council developed and began to advise nonprofit organizations in corporate, real estate, and tax law. In 1991, the Council changed its name to Lawyers Alliance for New York. Since then, Lawyers Alliance has continued to aid New York nonprofits with their varied legal and programmatic needs. Current program priorities are: affordable housing and homeless services, economic development, children and youth services, immigrant communities, and elder services.
Lawyers Alliance functions by utilizing the skills of a network of over 1,400 pro bono
lawyers from corporations and law firms, as well as a staff of attorneys and other employees and on-site volunteers.
Lawyers Alliance represents 550 nonprofit organizations on over 900 different legal matters yearly.
