In 2008 Korn
guitarist Munky announced that he had started a side project called Fear and the Nervous System
along with several other musicians including Leopold, who is contributing with programming, mixing, guitars and is co-producing the album. The album is on track for a 2011 release. Tracks up for inclusion include "Dissolve", "Choking Victim", "Majesty of War", "No Secrets", "Beautiful Side", "The Last Dive", "Slow Motion", "China Town", and "Jaguar". "Dissolve" is based on a 15 beat guitar pattern by Leopold, with a variety of changes and melodies.
In 2009 Leopold co-composed the score for the Hughes brothers' movie The Book of Eli
. In May 2010 this score won a BMI film music award.
In 2009/2010 Leopold joined up with The Big Pink
as a touring bassist on their world tour.
