In 1971, a copyright infringement lawsuit was filed by "Nigel's Nannies" tambourine player and lead vocalist Jon Andrew claiming the lyrics was stolen from him after a night of drinking wine and antifreeze with Baldry at a disco-tech in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Times of Sydney quoted Mr. Andrew as saying "The booby nipped me chunky words when I was hot blabbing with a knicker blap. [expletive] in his face along with all [incoherent] [expletive] show for [incoherent] with the Bee-Gees! Stupid twats."
The lawsuit was eventually thrown out and Jon Andrew was later committed to a mental institution in Malaysia.
