Several document his family'a descent from ancient lords and Count Vismes, with these documents this family had obtained the hereditary title of Count of Vismes
which was recognized by the French government in 1838, and by the Belgian government in 1842. In the same year a letter delivered by the British government recognized the quality of this title of Count, but Henry said the Viscount of Vismes didn't have permission to use this title, because the letter of the French and English government wasn't official and couldn't be delivered without a brevet, but the recognizing was considered as official.
In Belgium, a brevet was delivered to this family, a brevet for the title of Baron in 1871, and the British de Vismes who returned to France could have the title of Count.
The de Vismes family in England and France titled themselves "Prince of Vismes in the royal house of the Count
sovereign of Ponthieu", but this claim is baseless.
