restaurant chain founded in 1980 with a $5,000 loan by Denise Meehan, the president and sole shareholder. It is known for its burgers, which are called "homeburgers".
In 2002, Meehan was named to the Sales Hall of Fame by the Canadian Professional Sales Association. Meehan has also been profiled by Hilary magazine.

History
Meehan, a native of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, grew up in a tourist resort operated by her parents. Since 1984, the business has expanded to 30 stores. The first store opened on Queen Street East in Toronto. Following that, the second store opened at 2383 Kingston Rd in Scarborough. The Lick's name and menu is now franchised including Milner and Hamilton locations.In 2002, Meehan was named to the Sales Hall of Fame by the Canadian Professional Sales Association. Meehan has also been profiled by Hilary magazine.
