The LifeCam is a Webcam

for home PC users available in various models. Its special features include an embedded microphone and integration with Windows Live Messenger
, thus enabling direct Internet support. All models of Lifecam have a Windows Live Call button that causes Windows Live Messenger to initiate a video call. It is available for both laptops and desktops. The NX series is for laptops while the VX series is for desktops.
There is a known problem for this particular unit. Several laptops have their wireless antenna placed along the top of the laptop display. Clipping the microphone to a laptop display like this may cause interference with the microphone, resulting in a great deal of static.
