The 1962–63 Liga Leumit
season saw Hapoel Petah Tikva crowned champions for the fifth successive season, a record which remains unbeaten. Hapoel's Zharia Ratzabi was the league's top scorer with 12 goals.
Although Maccabi Petah Tikva finished bottom, they were not relegated as the Israel Football Association
made a decision to enlarge the league to 15 clubs the following season.
