Lin Chih-Chieh is a Taiwanese professional basketball
player of Amis
descent. During his career with the Taiwan Beer
club of the Super Basketball League
(SBL), Lin has won one most valuable player
(MVP) award and two scoring champion titles, while leading his team to back-to-back championships in 2007 and 2008 where himself was named MVP for both championship series they won. Dubbed "the beast" (野獸) by local Media, Lin Chih-Chieh is renowned for his ability to boost his team's morale by making sensational plays and is among the most loved basketball players in Taiwan.
Despite undersized in the forward position in international tournaments, Lin oftentimes start for the Chinese Taipei national basketball team
in the place of the injury-prone Chen Hsin-An
and, at times, steps out to be an important scorer for the team.
In September 2009, Lin signed a two-year contract with the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association
(CBA) for a monthly salary of $15,000. In Zhejiang, Lin started as shooting guard for the 2009-2010 season. After helping Zhejiang advance to the second round of the CBA playoffs, where the team was eliminated, Lin was allowed to return and play for Taiwan Beer in the latter's postseason games in the SBL, where they were defeated by the defending champions, the Dacin Tigers
