Linyanti Constituency

Linyanti is a constituency in the Caprivi Region
of Namibia
. Its population is 13,741. Linyanti is known for having a large marshland inside of it.
The first councilor was Fani Francis Sizimbo (DTA member 1992-1998) during his reign criminal activities took reign including illegal road blocks, illegal shootings and killings he fled to Dukwe in Botswana after his party after a failed secessionist attempt by his ailing Party.
He was succeeded by Lichaba John Ndubano in 1998-2005 (SWAPO member). He successfully managed to move the SWAPO office from Linyanti to Sangwali, he did not support secessionism as a result he was not liked in secessionist dominated areas. During his time developments in telephones came to the district of Sangwali. He failed to continue and people could relate with him effectively due to abuse of alcohol. In 2004 he was voted out by Dorothy Kabula.
Ndubano was succeeded by Kabula in 2004.

Politics
The only constituency in the region with two chiefs Mayuni Of the Mafwe proper and Shufu of the Bayeyi. Over decades chief Mamili has been claiming authority in the constituency by this has drastically changed after the Bayeyi declared themslves an independent tribe in 1992 and the Mafwe proper divorced from him in 1994.
