) with just one single. In some special cases, an "A" may appear next to the peak position, denoting that the act's only Top 40 hit was on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay
chart. In these cases, a commercial single was not released, therefore disqualifying it from the main Billboard Hot 100 chart; this rule was revoked after December 5, 1998.
