The following is a list of monarchs of the Kingdom of Kandy
from 1473 to 1815. The monarch of Kandy
was first established by Sena Sammatha Wickramabahu
, a royal from the Kingdom of Kotte
. It is possible to say that the Kingdom of Kandy was ruled by three dynasties, the royal blood line from Kotte, the House of Dinajara and the Nayaks of Kandy
. Note that the reigns between the royal house from Kotte and the House of Dinajara are not exact for there is not sufficient information, and that Yamasinghe Bandara
ruled for only a year or less.
