is divided into eight Parliamentary constituencies

one of which is shared with Mid Glamorgan
.
They are all County constituencies.
Proposals by the Boundary Commission for Wales would retain these
eight constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current local government wards,
and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies.
The only perceptible change at this scale, between Caerphilly and Islwyn, is shown dotted on the map.
These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2010.
