She is taken for a tour around the school property by the Principal, Ms Margaret Murray, and the reciprocal swap student, Chantelle. She describes herself as someone who is good-looking and a great ambassador for her private school. At the school assembly, Ja'mie introduces herself to the students and tells her life story, clearly bragging about her rich and lavish lifestyle from "one of the most expensive private girls' schools in the state". She tells the students that she feels sorry for them, thinking that they are all povo Poverty Poverty is the lack of a certain amount of material possessions or money. Absolute poverty or destitution is inability to afford basic human needs, which commonly includes clean and fresh water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter. About 1.7 billion people are estimated to live... bogan Bogan The term bogan is Australian slang, usually pejorative or self-deprecating, for an individual who is recognised to be from a lower class background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies such a background.... s and "really dumb". |
Mr G is first seen as a supporting staff member in the upcoming school drama performance Anything Goes Anything Goes Anything Goes is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The original book was a collaborative effort by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, heavily revised by the team of Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London... . In a later scene, he continues to brag about his life story in the field of performing arts. Mr G then describes his typical drama class, where he incorporates a unique teaching style. Mr G also teaches dance to the special education Special education Special education is the education of students with special needs in a way that addresses the students' individual differences and needs. Ideally, this process involves the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials,... students. Mr G summarises his role at the school as to teach drama and dance to change lives, inspire students, and to encourage the students to dare to dream. Along with his loyal sidekick, Science Teacher, Mr Rodney Parsons, Mr G criticises and is frustrated by his superior, the Head of Drama and Director of Anything Goes, Mrs Meredith Cotton, as well as complaining about the lack of funding and support given by the school's Principal. |
Jonah first appears in the office of the Student Welfare officer, Mr Doug Peterson, after a bullying incident at the train station. Mr Peterson later on describes Jonah's family, his school history, his erratic and aggressive behaviour, and his attention deficit disorder. In his English class, Jonah is disruptive and rude to others in the class, including to the English Teacher, Ms Sarah Wheatley, however he thinks that he gets into trouble because the teachers are racist. Jonah tells of his life ambition to be a professional breakdancer when he is older, and that he is only stupid because he chooses not to be smart. |
| 2 | 12 September 2007 | 1.38 | At Ja'mie's first day at Summer Heights High, she is paired with fellow student, Ashley, whom Ja'mie describes as "the fugliest girl I have ever met in my life". Ja'mie is taken to classes and shown around the school by Ashley, and tries to fit in with Ashley and her friends during lunch. After uncomfortable silences caused by the lack of similarities while trying to get to know each other, Ja'mie asks Ashley who the "hot" and "popular" girls of Year 11 are, and promptly asks to be introduced to them. This introduction sees Ja'mie fitting in well with this group of girls and abandons Ashley as her chaperon, however later Ja'mie has an emotional breakdown while remembering the school and friends she left behind while having to deal with the dramatic changes thanks to the exchange program. | The Head of Drama, Mrs Meredith Cotton, has had to go to New Zealand due to her mother suddenly falling very ill, and therefore Mr G has been promoted to Acting Head of Drama, renaming his title as The Director of Performing Arts. Thrilled with the temporary promotion, he makes a few changes such as clearing-out Ms Cotton's desk and moving himself in, and walking around the school to pass on the news to students of his new role. He also gets support staff to do work for him, complains about noise from the gym, and requests teachers "under the umbrella of Performing Arts" to fill-in classes and duties he is too busy for; fellow teaching staff complain to the Principal about his now selfish and bossy demeanour. Jonah and his friends participate in an ethnic acceptance program created by the school's Social Officer, Mr Doug Peterson, called "Polynesian Polynesian culture Polynesian culture refers to the indigenous peoples' culture of Polynesia who share common traits in language, customs and society. Pathways", and enrolls Jonah into 'a contract' to get Jonah to improve his behaviour and academic levels. With his best friend, Leon, Jonah is also enrolled at Gumnut Cottage for remedial reading lessons five periods a week with Ms Jan Palmer, who seems to understand Jonah better than her fellow teachers and begins to form a connection with him. Jonah is reading at an eight-year-old level, however gets angry at having to read children's books and continues his disruptive behaviour as seen in other classes. |

However Ja'mie is shocked to discover messages from Sebastian to another girl Year 7 student on his mobile phone but over-exaggerates the meaning of the texts because they only talk about "saving each other a seat in English". He is counselled by the school nurse, and ordered to change clothes before the event into clothes which are rather embarrassing for him. During the dance, he becomes involved in a fight with Kieran, a talented Year 7 breakdancer, and is subsequently removed from the event and sent home. |

The poster, titled "Bogan Bogan The term bogan is Australian slang, usually pejorative or self-deprecating, for an individual who is recognised to be from a lower class background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies such a background.... Alert! Public School Skank Society" with Jess being called a "Clearasil Clearasil Clearasil is the top-selling brand of skin care and acne medication, whose products contain chiefly benzoyl peroxide, sulfur & resorcinol, triclosan, or salicylic acid as active ingredients... before shot", Kaitlyn a "Housing Commission Housing Commission of Victoria The Housing Commission of Victoria was a State Government body responsible for public housing in Victoria, Australia... whore", Bec an "Asian try-hard" and labelling Holly with "Breast reduction required - donations accepted". The four girls then expectedly have a major falling out with Ja'mie, who calls the picture a "joke" after being confronted. Jamie is then shown being shunned in the school yard by her peers as the bad word spread about her, before retreating to the staff room. With Ja'mie still be rejected by Holly in class, she breaks down, rushes out into the yard and has an emotional rant with her mum on her mobile. Ja'mie then asks Ms Dean to organise a mediation session with the four girls. This leads to a fiery discussion where an onslaught of racial and sexual comments between Ja'mie and the girls are made, with Ja'mie then falling on the floor and hyperventilating. Ja'mie then finally convinces the girls to see the situation from her perspective, which leads them to forget their tiff and all become friends once again. |
Mr. G is interviewed about his above average sense of smell and how he uses it to help determine which students are drinking, smoking or taking drugs. Mr G is then shown commencing the audition process for students to star in "Annabelle Dickson: The Musical", by pinning up posters and stating that he is "casting the net wide". Before undertaking traditional auditions, he carries out psychological assessments upon interested students, which results in some cuts. Group auditions are next with the special education students being instantly rejected. Call back for girls auditioning for the role of Annabelle, boys for the role of Mr. G, and even auditions for Mr G's dog Celine are then shown. Ultimately, students are split up into two groups with one group being taken to another classroom while the other group remains in the gym. One group is told they all have parts in the show, while the other group receives the bad news of all being unsuccessful. | Jonah begins the first of what will be weekly meetings with Mr Peterson about learning anger management Anger management The term anger management commonly refers to a system of psychological therapeutic techniques and exercises by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger & aggression can control or reduce the triggers, degrees, and effects of an angered emotional state... skills. During English he is informed that he will need to present his talk about The Outsiders The Outsiders (novel) The Outsiders is a coming-of-age novel based in 1965 by S. E. Hinton, first published in 1967 by Viking Press. Hinton was 15 when she started writing the novel, but did most of the work when she was sixteen and a junior in high school. Hinton was 18 when the book was published... the next day and fails to persuade Miss Wheatley to let him do it on Tupac Shakur Tupac Shakur Tupac Amaru Shakur , known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide as of 2007, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world... instead. In reaction to this, Jonah shows Ms Palmer a drawing he drew of his father touching his genitals Child sexual abuse Child sexual abuse is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual stimulation. Forms of child sexual abuse include asking or pressuring a child to engage in sexual activities , indecent exposure with intent to gratify their own sexual desires or to... , leading to a meeting between himself, his father, Mr Peterson and Ms Palmer, where Jonah gets pressured into revealing that he made up the allegation False allegation of child sexual abuse A false allegation of child sexual abuse is an accusation that a person committed one or more acts of child sexual abuse when in reality there was no perpetration of abuse by the accused person as alleged. Ja'mie and her friends decide to go on a protest by starving themselves but it is not successful. Ja'mie then thinks she can fake her way into getting the formal approved if she pretends to be cutting her wrists. Her persuasion causes Mr Cameron to reconsider and allows them to explain why there should be a formal during the school assembly. Ja'mie finally gets her formal. | Mr G and his cast are rehearsing for "Annabelle Dickson: The Musical". But the principal, Ms Murray thinks that he's been excluding some of the special-ed kids from the musical. Mr G doesn't like the idea and is intrigued when Rodney explains a story about a school that had a mother find human faeces in one of the special-ed rooms therefore making the health department kicking the special ed kids out. Mr G tries this but fails as the school cleaner steam cleans the room in the morning. | Jonah is up to his insulting antics once more. After misbehaving again, Mr Peterson, the school Guidance Officer, issues him and his gang a group of Year 7 boys who are struggling socially. If they succeed in helping the Year 7 boys adjust, they get to perform their breakdancing demo on assembly. However, Jonah and his friends end up bullying them. Mr Peterson finds out, and gives them a second chance at the school swimming carnival. However, Jonah decides to have some "fun" and sends a picture of his backside to all the teacher's mobile phones. Subsequently, Jonah is kicked out of the pool. |
| 6 | 10 October 2007 | 1.19 | Ja'mie and the girls begin plans for the Year 11 formal. Due to their extravagant plans, however, tickets cost $450 and no one in the school will buy them. When one of the girls decides to bring a disabled hot guy to the formal, Ja'mie decides to get even better 'cred' by inviting Tamsin Walker, a lesbian Lesbian Lesbian is a term most widely used in the English language to describe sexual and romantic desire between females. The word may be used as a noun, to refer to women who identify themselves or who are characterized by others as having the primary attribute of female homosexuality, or as an... . Ja'mie asks Tamsin to the formal, insisting that she too is lesbian. When Ja'mie's friends find out, she assures them that she is just doing it for the cred. |
Mr G's musical begins to fall apart just 10 days before opening night. First, Annabelle Dickson's parents refuse to have the musical focusing on their daughter. Instead, Mr G renames it "Mr G: The Musical" and tells his own story, with later reference to a girl who doesn't take his advice, and dies of an overdose in a similar manner to Annabelle. However, his plans continue to fall apart when the school can't afford his arena seating; the basketball hoops in the gymnasium continue to remain even after Mr G requested their removal; his leading actor quits, and is replaced by Toby - the child with Downs Syndrome; and then Mr G's dog, Celine, is hit and killed by a car. | Jonah gets in a fight with his breakdancing nemesis Kieran and is subsequently banned from the "amphitheatre" where the Polynesian kids traditionally hang out. In retaliation, they vandalise the Year 7 lockers, and Jonah is subsequently suspended for 3 days. |

Today, the term includes all forms of music playback, no matter the medium.There are several types of disc jockeys... demands full payment of $5000, Ja'mie and the girls decide to do a themed dress day, and have all students pay five dollars. However, to make the day more acceptable, she lies and tells the students that the money is going towards AIDS AIDS Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is a disease of the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus... in Africa Africa Africa is the world's second largest and second most populous continent, after Asia. At about 30.2 million km² including adjacent islands, it covers 6% of the Earth's total surface area and 20.4% of the total land area... . When Mr Cameron finds out, Ja'mie is forced to give the money to charity and - against her will - concede to his condition that the formal can only go ahead if it is held in the school staffroom. |
With one week until the musical opens, Mr G is informed that Mrs Cotton is returning, and she will be taking over as Head Drama teacher again. Upset over this, and further angered by the principal's refusal to spend school money on arena seating, Mr G resigns in a huff. However, as he starts to spend his days driving around outside the school, he is eventually offered his job back. The only thing that gets him back into school is when he learns that Mrs Cotton will be directing the show: he agrees to return to direct, but not to teach. | Jonah is put on probation after his three day suspension. He is not allowed to be caught break dancing by any of the teachers. If he is, it is most likely that he will be expelled. After Kieran and the Year 7 students write racist comments on their lockers, Jonah continues acting up. During English class, he continues to cause trouble, and an angry Ms Wheatley sends him to the principal's office, and he is threatened with possible expulsion. |
| 8 | 24 October 2007 | 1.51 | On the day of the formal, Ja'mie learns with hours before the formal that Tamsin, her lesbian date has dumped her after finding out that Ja'mie is not really a lesbian. Instead, Ja'mie makes a last minute decision to ask out her ex-boyfriend Sebastian from year seven. After enjoying the formal, she leaves Summer Heights High on the last day of term but not before getting back together with Sebastian and saying goodbye to everyone before ditching her friends at the school gate and beginning to settle back into her old life with her old friends from Hillford Girls Grammar. | "Mr G: An Arena Spectacular" is premiered, with some alterations including Toby's voice being dubbed over by Mr G as well as Mr G announcing his return to teaching. It is revealed that Celine, Mr G's dog, didn't die in the car accident, but she suffers from a paralysed back. It is then revealed that Mr G put human faeces in the special education classroom once again, only this time it was found by education officials and the special ed students were removed from the school with the exception of Toby, who was placed into an integration program within the school. The special ed classroom is made into the Gregson Performing Arts Centre and a time capsule Time capsule A time capsule is an historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a method of communication with future people and to help future archaeologists, anthropologists, or historians... is made and buried beside the classroom which is to be opened in 100 years time. |
Jonah is sent to a meeting with the principal in which he finds out that he will be expelled from Summer Heights High and will be sent back to Tonga by his father. Due to his faithfulness to his remedial English teacher, he makes one last appearance at the school for Gumnut Cottage's story telling day. Followed by some well wishes from members of staff, footage of his graffiti attacks all over the school is shown, in which he has scrawled his "dicktation" tag all over doors, teachers' cars and the school roof. |
