List of best-selling Latin albums in the United States
Encyclopedia
This is a list of the best-selling Latin albums in the United States based on RIAA
certification. Starting in 2000, the RIAA launched the Los Premios de Oro y Platino certification for Spanish-language albums in the United States. The original criteria for certification was that the album must have shipped at least 100,000 units for gold and 200,000 units for platinum, with multi-platinum awarded for multiples of 200,000. An album must have at least 50% Spanish-language content to be considered. In 2008, the required units of shipments were lowered, requiring 50,000 for gold, 100,000 for platinum and 200,000 or more for multi-platinum. Albums are listed in order of certification (highest to lowest). This list contains any type of album in Spanish, including studio
