It offers guided tours for school age children and adults year-round. Because of this Republic, Laredo had flown seven flags instead of the traditional Six Flags over Texas.

Laredo Federal Building was built in 1900 and is of Classical architectural style. In the early 1900s the building was used as a Courthouse, Customhouse, Government Office, and Post Office. Today it is used for federal offices and the 78040 Post Office.
