has four of the Great Lakes partially within its borders. In addition, Michigan has 62,798 natural and man-made inland lakes (to be included in the count, the body of water must be equal to or larger than 0.1 acres). Of these, there are 26,266 lakes larger than 1 acre, 6,537 lakes larger than 10 acres, 1,148 lakes larger than 100 acres, 98 lakes larger than 1,000 acres, and 10 lakes larger than 10,000 acres.
