in 2007. The couple representing the country was chosen by national selection, which started on 4 July and ended on 22 August. The couple chosen were Gabrielė Valiukaitė and Gintaras Svistunavičius winning the jury votes and the televoting. The dances they performed at the contest were Paso Doble and Traditional Lithuanian Folk Dance. Lithuania came eleventh after receiving 35 points from 9 countries.
In 2008, Lithuania received their highest placing ever in any Eurovision contest, coming fourth. Besides this, the highest place they had ever gotten was in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006
