, named after the city of Liverpool, England. The population was 404 at the 2000 census.
The site was custom designed by a small local business under contract to the city. The following press release was issued in March of 2011 to announce the Grand Opening of the Site:
Liverpool, Texas Mayor Bill Strickland has contracted with Liverpool Computers for the creation of the first website for "The City of Liverpool, Texas" (cityofliverpooltexas.com), a site devoted specifically to The City of Liverpool, Texas. Mayor Strickland is proud to present this first for the City of Liverpool to the viewing public. There are many resources to access on the sections of the city government. Get to know your City Representatives and find out how to contact them when you have a need to speak to them. The site was custom designed by a Liverpool native who was asked to keep in mind the great diversity of the people of Liverpool. There are many documents available for download, pictures for viewing and new sections being added to better serve the people of the Chocolate Bayou Community. We welcome your input and even your possible additions to the site (i.e. pictures, documents & community news items such as births & birthdays, weddings & engagements, and many other items) which may be submitted to an email address listed on the site for approval. We hope that you will enjoy this first for our growing city and work with us to make our community a much better place. We look forward to hearing from you about how we are doing. In October 2009 Mike Peters, the mayor of Liverpool, was found dead at train tracks. Officials believe that he committed suicide.
In 1996 a book entitled "The History of Liverpool, Texas and Its People" was copyrighted and published by The Liverpool History Book Committee, Liverpool, Texas. The committee consisted of the following members: J. W. Moore, Tom Anderson, D. Armstrong Publishing and other unnamed individual committee Members. Judy King was the Editorial Assistant. It was printed by D. Armstrong Book Publishing Co. in Houston Texas.
The city of Liverpool is among some of the oldest in Brazoria County, Texas and was established in 1837.

was 425.4 people per square mile (164.2/km²). There were 189 housing units at an average density of 199.0/sq mi (76.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 88.61% White, 0.74% African American, 1.49% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 6.68% from other races
, and 2.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.90% of the population.
There were 152 households out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.5% were married couples
living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% were non-families. 19.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 33.4% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 112.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $48,750, and the median income for a family was $51,042. Males had a median income of $36,875 versus $30,938 for females. The per capita income
for the city was $19,492. About 7.0% of families and 6.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
