Lombard Street is an east-west street in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
. It runs from Front Street, near the Delaware River
, on the east, to 27th St., near the Schuylkill River
, on the west.
Unlike many east-west street names in Philadelphia, the "Lombard" name is not continued in West Philadelphia. Historically, the eastern end of Lombard St. was home to one of the oldest free black neighborhoods in the United States, which was displaced during urban redevelopment since the 1950s.
