History
Route 82 was introduced in 1986 to replace former route 2B between Baker Street & Golders Green and the Sunday service of the former route 26. It ran from Victoria to Golders Green (Monday to Saturday), North Finchley (Monday - Saturday garage journeys) and Barnet Chesterfield Road (Sundays). The section between Barnet & North Finchley was withdrawn and replaced by diverting route 84A in 1991. It was extended at all times to North Finchley later in the same year.In 2001, the route was upgraded to Volvo B7TL / Plaxton President (VPL) double deckers.
In 2002, brand new Dennis Trident 2 10.5m / Plaxton President (TPLs) were introduced to replace the VPLs.
