In 1926 Lu was invited to teach at Guanghua University by his friend and the school's headmaster Qian Jibo. Lu remained at the school until his death.

His home remains a protected property and minor tourist site in the city of Changzhou offering numerous artifacts from his life arranged in the restored building. The house is at #8 Shi Zi Street (Chinese: 十子街10号), a small alley a few blocks North-East of the Nan Da Jie shopping center. Admission is free however visitors are asked to sign a guestbook.
