In the village the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 24.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 85.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.7 males.

The Luck High School athletic teams are nicknamed the Cardinals. Luck plays the majority of its athletic events in the Lakeland Conference. Luck High School offers eight boys' sports (baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, hockey, track & field and wrestling) and eight girls' sports (basketball, cross country, golf, hockey, softball, tennis, track & field and volleyball).

History
Luck was originally two settlements, one on Big Butternut Lake, and one further west founded by Danish Immigrants in 1869, near the present site of State Highway 35. The two settlements knew it was impractical to remain as separate entities, but disagreed about which would be the center of town. The railroad settled the issue when it laid tracks near the western settlement. Luck was not incorporated until 1905, several years later than most surrounding villages.
