Johnny received a NZ On Air grant which he used to record 'Lullabies for Macy Rose' (named for his newborn niece) which was released on May 12, 2008.
The first single from Lullabies for Macy Rose is entitled "Little Box". The single was released on August 4, 2008 to coincide with a New Zealand wide tour with Reb Fountain.
