Lupino was the surname of a British theatre family tradition that could trace their roots back to an Italian émigré of the early 17th century. This family tradition comprised two actual families
  • the earlier Luppino or Lupino family
  • the later Hook family who assumed the Lupino surname

Several of the Hook family also adopted the surname Lane from Sarah Lane (1822–1899, née Borrow), the director of the Britannia Theatre
