MAG Poetry Prize

The MAG Poetry Prize is an open online poetry competition that is judged by the community of entrants. A minimum 1st prize of £2,000 is guaranteed. There is no fixed prize fund. The prize fund accumulates at the rate of £2 per entry (the entry fee is £6). The MAG Poetry Prize supports Mines Advisory Group
. It was founded in 2008.
Entrants judge small groups of 12 poems. All judging is anonymous. It is a knockout system in three rounds. In the final round only the 12 shortlisted poems remain. All entrants can vote on these final 12 poems.
The competition is annual and closes on 30th April. The judging takes place in May and June, the winners are announced in July. Entries are invited on any subject.
The 2011 competition attracted 1,015 entries from 36 countries (2010 competition - 591 entries from 27 countries).
