MI11, or Military Intelligence, section 11, is a department of the British Directorate of Military Intelligence

and acted as Field Intelligence Police. It was responsible for protecting British
troops against the enemy agents amongst civilian population during and in the theatre of war. MI11 replaced the role formerly assigned to the Field Security, which itself replaced the British Army
's Intelligence unit before World War I
