The Macrodasyida is an order
of gastrotrich
s. They are somewhat work-like in form, and not more than 1 to 1.5 mm in size.
Macrodasyids live in marine or brackish water, and can be distinguished from other gastrotrichs by the presence of two pores in the pharynx, that allow excess water to be expelled after feeding. They possess tubular adhesive glands at both ends of the body and on the lateral surfaces.
