The racial makeup of the township was 98.40% White, 0.40% African American, 0.50% Asian, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.70% of the population.
There were 1,025 households out of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% were married couples
living together, 5.0% had a male householder with no wife present, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.4% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the township the population was spread out with 27% 19 years or younger, 5.2% from 20 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 32.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42.1 years. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. Male and female populations over 18 years of age were evenly balanced, with 1,045 females over 18 compared to 1,035 males over 18.
