The town has a clinic and school. Many of it resident have immigrate abroad to the USA and Europe but they still maintain the town and help the population that remain behind. Many of the town's young residents attend college in the capital of Santo Domingo

There is a hotels in Majagual, a major highway cross this once inaccessible mountain town, Autopista del Nordeste RD-8 the town is expected to growth. There are Trails that lead inside the Haitise national Park, good for mountain biking and horse ride.
