The Malaysia Nanban was originally founded by Dato Sikandar Batcha Bin Abdul Majeed in Year 1986.
The First issue was publish in Year 1986 October 1.
Curently a leading Tamil News Paper in Malaysia (Nielsen Report).
After The demise of Dato Sikandar Batcha In Year 2006 Disember 11 The Nanban is headed by his 3 Son

Tamil daily newspapers are owned by politicians or their loyal supporters aligned to ruling party. Publishing licenses are renewed annually. Though, most of the time, the newspapers are preoccupied in MIC leadership tussle, they do from time to time show their independence by highlighting Indian's concern. Combined circulation is relatively low as Tamil readers are dwindling. Three newspapers are in circulation.
