football knockout tournament involving teams from Greater Manchester
, England
. It is a County Cup competition
of the Manchester Football Association
and involves Non-league football
clubs, although at least one Football League club has entered the competition.
5-2, in the final to become the inaugural champions at their Charles Street Ground in Blackley in front of crowd of 2,400. The gate receipts of £59 were distributed 50% to the FA and 25% to each of the finalists. After World War II
it became known as the Manchester Premier Cup.

The Competition has been dominated by the teams in the Tameside borough of Manchester who together have won the contest 55 times. Central Manchester teams have won it 5 times, teams from Bury winning 4 times and Salford and Wigan twice. A team from outside the Greater Manchester Borders has only ever won the trophy Once.

who beat Ashton United F.C.
by four goals to three after extra time in one of the best finals of recent years. The underdogs from Ashton were handed a major blow below when The Manchester FA gave Droylsden clearance to play four players who were ineligible under normal tournament rules. Former Ashton player Ciaran Kilheeney
gave Droylsden an early lead but Ashton hit back to equalise almost immediately through Matty O' Neill. In the second half Kilheeney completed a hat-trick with a penalty and a header before a storming fightback from Ashton saw goals from Craig Robinson and Jonathon Bathurst level things up. Extra time saw both teams create chances but a second penalty to Droylsden proved decisive with ace marksman Kilheeney winning the tie.
