He finished the 2007 season with 44 innings in the majors and a 2.05 ERA. He did not pitch particularly well in the 2007 Playoffs (4 1/3 IP, 4 Earned Runs) but was part of the 2007 World Champion Red Sox.
After an intensive offseason workout regimen, Delcarmen dropped 15 pounds. Manager Terry Francona
