The school is situated in a residential area, close to the town centre of Maidstone
. The school occupies a 30 acres (121,405.8 m²) site to which the North Downs and the town itself form a pleasant backdrop.
This school also shares it's grounds with Maidstone Girls Grammar School.
The school has undergone a number of new building work, such as a new technology block, a new P.E block, and a new flood light all weather sports pitch.
The school interacts with the local area by holding events to help students, such as the business enterprise scheme and many others.On the grounds there are 11-13 buildings, a paved area, two courts, three fields, a swamp, a bomb shelter used for education and three forest and woodland areas.
It is surrounded on both sides by railway tracks, there is also a residential area on the west side and on the east side is Millenium Park.
