. It is located in the district of Nyon.

The municipality was part of the Aubonne District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Marchissy became part of the new district of Nyon.
The municipality is located at the foot of the Jura Mountains
on the road to Col du Marchairuz. It consists of the haufendorf village (an irregular, unplanned and quite closely packed village, built around a central square) of Marchissy.
