Maria Teresa was called Menonka by her parents. When her father became king, he decided to baptize his two daughters during the coronation celebrations. Her godparents were the King of England, Charles II

His beloved daughter's death plunged Sobieski into deep despair, which he expressed in the letters written by he and his wife during this period. Maria Teresa Sobieska was buried in the parish church in Zhovkva.
