In 2009 Mihail became Technical Director of the Al Wahda Abu Dhabi Youth Academy. It was under his technical leadership that the Academy won two UAE Youth League titles at U-17 and U-19 in 2010. He then returned home to join the Coaching Education Department of the Romanian Football Federation
