, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), of which, 2.1 square miles (5.5 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (3.64%) is water. Most of the city lies in Waupaca County, with only a small portion extending into Shawano County.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.08% of the population.
There were 581 households out of which 25.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% were married couples
living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.7% were non-families. 32.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.82.
In the city the population was spread out with 21.2% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 22.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
