Maruta may refer to:
- A special project code-name of a Japanese military unit during the Second World War. They performed biological and chemical experiments on alive prisoners. 'Maruta' means "wood log" indicating that they treated those prisoners as non-living experimental subjects. It is also termed 'Unit 731'.
