On June 12, 2006, Evans returned to Days of our Lives as Kayla after a fourteen-year absence. In 2009, Evans and co-star Stephen Nichols were fired.

On Thursday, June 12, 2010 Evans returned again to Days of Our Lives as Kayla for a short-term stint and as a part of Alice Horton on-screen farewell.

Personal life

Evans has been married to Dr. Michael Schwartz since 1985. They have three children, Daniel Luke (born 1987), Katherine Elizabeth (born 1990), and Matthew Joseph (born 1993).
