  • The Massachusetts Academy is referenced by Wolverine in Wolverine and the X-Men, episode 3, when Emma shows up at the Institute. He describes it as a place that tried to imitate Xavier's, as the students bullied people instead of being taught to control their powers. Emma later closed her school due to the suffering her students endured at the hands of anti-mutant protestors. But she eventually missed teaching and decided to join the X-Men.
