Maurice Milliere was a French
illustrator who studied at l'Ecole des Arts Decoratifs
and l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was a contemporary of Louis Icart. Milliere served as an early inspiration to Vargas. He became one of the illustrators for La Vie Parisienne
and Fantasio. He helped to estabish the genre of boudoir art. Millière died in 1946 at the age of 74.
